Maja Vrban Sačić (b. 1987, Varaždin, Croatia) is a visual artist working at the intersection of painting, printmaking and digital media. She earned her MA in Graphic Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2012, studying under Prof. Nevenka Arbanas.
Her work explores themes of identity, gender duality, embodiment, and the psychological territories of motherhood—often using deceptively soft forms to unearth complex inner states. In 2011, her graduation piece Androgenus received the University of Zagreb's Purchase Award for Final Work of the Year. Earlier, in 2006, she was named Best Student of the Academy’s Graphic Department.
Vrban Sačić has presented four solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows, including the international multimedia project MOLT! Speculative Identities at Atelierhof Kreuzberg, Berlin. Between 2011 and 2014, she taught courses in graphic design, photo-graphics, and drawing, and later served as an instructor at Miljenčić-Štokić School of Drawing and Painting. She became a member of HDLU in 2014.
Since 2016, she has also co-founded and worked as a creative lead in the Browncatz digital agency, bringing her visual sensibility into the realms of web and graphic design.
She currently lives and works in Varaždin, balancing digital agency projects, artistic production and family life.
